When Assured Data Protection (Assured) first launched in the UK, it started with just three people – Simon Chappell, Stewart Parkin and me. From the beginning, the goal was to build a world-class cyber resilience business while staying true to the culture, values, and community that shaped the company. I’m proud to say we’ve made this a reality.
Today, Assured has grown into a global organization with more than 100 employees directly supporting the business in the UK and over 300 people globally. Now, with the opening of our new UK and EMEA headquarters at Thorpe Park business park, Leeds, the company is making another major investment in Yorkshire and in the future of local talent, collaboration, and growth.
Assured’s Local-First Approach Drives Growth
For the leadership team, the decision to build the business in the North was never accidental. All three UK founders have lived in the region for many years, and we understood the potential that Yorkshire offered.
We wanted to create a company rooted in the North, with access to strong local talent, and a sustainable foundation for long-term growth. Rather than establishing ourselves in a traditional London tech hub, we saw an opportunity to build something different in Yorkshire, combining technical and commercial expertise with a culture centered on community. A local-first approach has remained central to the company’s growth strategy.
More Than Just a Shiny New Office
For Assured, office culture is about more than simply having a physical workplace. We believe proximity matters, particularly in technical, support, and customer-facing roles where knowledge sharing and collaboration are essential.
At Assured, we believe there is significant value in bringing people together physically, particularly across technical, finance, sales, and marketing teams. We see in-person collaboration as an important part of how employees learn faster, share knowledge more effectively, and build stronger working relationships, helping to reinforce the culture and teamwork that have shaped the business as it has grown.
That philosophy has heavily influenced the design of Assured’s new office.
Located within one of the UK’s largest business parks and positioned close to Leeds, York, major transport routes, and regional airports, the new headquarters has been designed to support collaboration, flexibility, and employee wellbeing.
The office itself reflects the company’s culture. Rather than creating a traditional corporate environment, Assured worked with Design Tonic, one of the North’s leading office design specialists, to create a dynamic, people-focused workspace with breakout spaces and environments designed to support different working styles and neurodiverse needs. The investment is also about creating a destination for customers, partners, and vendors.
We see the new headquarters as more than simply an internal workspace. We want the office to become a collaborative environment where customers, technology vendors, and strategic partners can work more closely with Assured’s teams, strengthen relationships, and create more value across the wider cyber resilience ecosystem.
Assured’s Ongoing Commitment to Yorkshire
The move also reflects Assured’s continued commitment to investing in local talent and the wider Yorkshire community.
Alongside recruitment initiatives, Assured is expanding apprenticeship opportunities, supporting graduates entering the technology sector, and offering work experience placements for local students. Assured also supports grassroots sports teams and community initiatives across the region. The result is a business that has grown globally while remaining firmly connected to its roots.
For us at Assured, the new office is not simply about expanding into a larger space. It represents a long-term commitment to the North, to local talent and to continuing to build a global cyber resilience business from Yorkshire.
