<p>We are in need of a skilled <strong>Project Manager</strong> to oversee <strong>below-ground wet utility projects</strong> involving <strong>water, sewage, and stormwater systems</strong> throughout the Southern California region.</p>
<p>This position entails managing the entire project lifecycle from <strong>handover before construction to project completion</strong>. Your duties will include <strong>supervising finances, adhering to schedules, managing subcontractors, and liaising with clients</strong> on projects related to public and private sector infrastructure.</p>
<p>We seek an individual who can provide hands-on leadership and possesses a deep understanding of underground construction processes.</p>

<h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Project Leadership</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Lead the implementation of <strong>wet utility projects</strong> from initiation to completion.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Create and oversee <strong>project timetables, budgets, and staffing plans</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ensure projects are executed <strong>safely, on schedule, and within budget constraints</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Act as the main <strong>contact point</strong> for owners, agencies, and inspectors.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Financial & Contract Administration</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Manage <strong>project finances</strong>, cost estimates, and ongoing progress reports.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Monitor and handle <strong>change requests, RFIs, and contract adjustments</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Supervise <strong>billing, cash flow, and revenue monitoring</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Support <strong>value engineering</strong> and cost-saving measures while maintaining project quality.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Supplier & Vendor Oversight</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Acquire and oversee <strong>subcontractors and suppliers</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Review scopes of work, negotiate pricing, and guarantee <strong>contract adherence</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Track efficiency and address any performance or scheduling issues.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Site Management & Coordination</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Work closely with <strong>Superintendents and on-site leaders</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Coordinate <strong>labor, equipment, and material deliveries</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Maintain <strong>look-ahead schedules</strong> and facilitate weekly production planning.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Estimation & Preconstruction Support</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Assist with <strong>estimation, budgeting, and proposal creation</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Review plans and specifications for <strong>constructability and risk assessment</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Participate in <strong>pre-bid meetings and site visits</strong> when necessary.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Documentation & Project Closure</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Maintain precise <strong>project records</strong>, including schedules, logs, and correspondence.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Manage <strong>project closure procedures</strong>, including final documentation, turnover packages, and financial reports.</p>
</li>
</ul>

<h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Preferred Bachelor’s degree in <strong>Engineering, Construction Management</strong>, or similar field.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p><strong>5+ years of experience</strong> managing <strong>underground wet utility or heavy civil projects</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong background in <strong>water, sewage, and stormwater system construction</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Demonstrated ability to oversee <strong>budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relations</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Thorough understanding of <strong>public works contracts, prevailing wage regulations, and union labor environments</strong> in California.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience with <strong>CPM scheduling, cost management, and change control</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Proficient in project software such as <strong>Bluebeam, Excel, HCSS, Procore, or equivalent systems</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong <strong>leadership, communication, and problemsolving</strong> skills.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Valid <strong>California driver’s license</strong> and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.</p>
</li>
