About the Role

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon and leader to shape a brand-new practice from the ground up, combining clinical excellence with strong team and business leadership.</p>
<h3><strong>The Opportunity</strong></h3>
<p>As Clinical Director, you’ll take ownership of the overall performance of the clinic – clinical, financial, and people. You’ll have the autonomy to lead your team within an established framework, supported by a wider leadership group.</p>
<p>You’ll set the standard for clinical quality and patient care, lead a talented veterinary team, and play a key role in establishing the clinic’s presence in the local community.</p>
<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3>

<p><strong>Clinical Leadership:</strong></p>

<p>Deliver and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.</p>
<li>
<p>Spend approximately 80% of your time in clinical work.</p>
<li>
<p>Lead by example in evidence-based medicine and clinical excellence.</p>
<li>
<p>Oversee CPD, education, and clinical governance within the team.</p>

<p><strong>Business Performance:</strong></p>
<ul>

<p>Drive membership and client acquisition strategies.</p>
<li>
<p>Contribute to local marketing and community engagement.</p>
<li>
<p>Manage clinic budgets, KPIs, and financial performance.</p>
<li>
<p>Oversee HR, recruitment, and health & safety.</p>

<p><strong>Team Leadership:</strong></p>

<p>Line manage and develop the veterinary team, Head Nurse, and Practice Manager.</p>
<li>
<p>Foster collaboration, communication, and professional growth.</p>
<li>
<p>Conduct regular one-to-ones, team meetings, and performance reviews.</p>

<p><strong>Culture & Wellbeing:</strong></p>

<p>Promote open communication and early support for any issues.</p>

<p>MRCVS-qualified Veterinary Surgeon with proven leadership experience.</p>
<li>
<p>Passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care.</p>
<li>
<p>Skilled in team management, communication, and strategic thinking.</p>
<li>
<p>Commercially aware with an understanding of practice performance metrics.</p>
<li>
<p>Enthusiastic about building a positive culture in a new and growing clinic.</p>
