Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker Location: Plumstead, South East London Salary: Scale 3 £25,659 per annum (Actual gross salary) Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week (39 weeks per year) Closing Date: Friday 17 April at midday Plumstead Manor is a thriving and popular secondary school located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. About The Role: As Behaviour Support Worker your role will be to contribute to the daily provision of high-quality pastoral care. This includes monitoring standards and patterns of behaviour and discipline, attendance, and punctuality. You will need to have a good understanding of the school’s behaviour policy and be able to support staff in implementing this. You will: Supervise and monitor the movement of students around the site during lesson times returning students who are absent without permission to classrooms. Supervise students across the site during lunch time Support the operation and monitoring of the internal exclusion and restorative rooms as appropriate. Support the effective operation of the on-call system to remove students from lessons as necessary. Under supervision provide mentoring and tailored literacy and numeracy catch-up interventions which are evidenced based and therapeutic to students on a 1:1 and small group basis. About You: You should have level 2 qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths together with experience of working with children and young people. You should also have a commitment to the school’s Equal Opportunities Policy. The ability to be able to lead 1:1 or group intervention sessions on behaviour would be an advantage. The ability to speak an additional language would be desirable.
