Representatives from British Airways told students about their 10-week summer internships, placements years, and graduate schemes.
Benedict said:
We’re looking for people who are passionate about aviation. We have so many opportunities across all areas of the business including general management, supply chain, engineering, operations, and more.”
Xanthe from De Vere explained how they offer flexible, casual work to students.
What we can offer fluctuates throughout the year which works well for students who might not want much work during exam season and more during holiday seasons. We need waiters, bartenders, kitchen porters and more, for all of which we offer training."
Olivia from Aqua London Restaurant Group explained:
We have positions across our restaurants, so front of house roles, receptionists, waiters, sous chefs as well as roles at our head office."
Martina from The Fat Duck Group said what they look for most for their full and part time roles and placements in front and back of house is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
She explained:
We are happy to provide training. We are open to seeing what students have to offer."
Sarah from Heathrow Academy explained:
We have roles in retail, security, ground handling, check in, restaurants and coffee shops. We have CV, interview and essential skills workshops as well as apprenticeships and graduate schemes.”
Karina, an alumna who studied Airline and Airport Management and was at the fair representing the Air Charter Association, said:
It’s really nice to be back. I am looking for students who are passionate about the industry but not sure what they want to do. I want to tell them about our internship. I would have benefited so much from it!"
Nutrition and Food Management student Halah was looking for a part-time job in the sector.
She commented:
I’ve been given lots of helpful advice. I’m especially interested in working at Heathrow Airport.”
Second year Air Transport Management and Aviation student Anna said:
This has been very useful. I’m not too sure what I want to do but I want to get experience.”
