About the Role
We are delighted to be supporting with an multidisciplined, multi-office property consultancy in its search for an experienced structural engineer to join it’s regional office in the Plymouth area. <br><br>This office has an established group of engineers and consultants of various disciplines. This person will be work closely with other staff to achieve innovative, sustainable and cost-efficient buildings.<br> <br>Structures come from a variety of sectors include, education, aerospace, commercial, residential and manufacturing. This office typically services clients and developments from across the midlands meaning you will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on your local community. <br><br>Responsibilities include:<br><br> <br><ul><li>Contribute to outline, scheme and detailed engineering designs across a range of projects, as appropriate.</li><ul><li>Undertake detailed design calculations and develop proficiency in the latest design software.</li><li>Prepare design programmes for the delivery of project outputs.</li><li>Produce project reports, specifications and general correspondence as required.</li><li>Carry out site surveys and inspections, producing clear, logically structured reports with appropriate recommendations.</li><li>Review calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other project deliverables to ensure they meet the required quality standards before issue.</li><li>Liaise with internal and external members of the design and construction teams, representing the engineering team professionally.</li><li>Visit sites during the construction phase to monitor progress and provide technical advice to contractors.</li><li>Comply with Ridge document management and quality assurance procedures.</li><li>Support colleagues across the wider team and other disciplines when required, particularly to help meet project deadlines.</li></ul></ul><strong>Keey requirements:</strong><br><ul><li>A BEng (Hons) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering at 2:1 or above, or a higher qualification such as an MEng (Hons) or MSc.</li><ul><li>A sound foundation of engineering and/or site-based work experience.</li><li>A good fundamental understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, including the Eurocodes.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.</li><li>A commitment to continuing professional development and actively working towards a recognised professional qualification.</li><li>A current UK driving licence.</li><li>Experience using AutoCAD and Revit would be desirable.</li></ul></ul><strong>Rewards:</strong><br><ul><li>This role offers the chance to progress your career within structural engineering at a forward thinking, friendly company</li><ul><li>Exposure to a variety of projects, sectors, clients, and discipline experts</li><li>Ability to contribute to the growth and development of the team approach, adding value for their Clients</li><li>Above average annual leave</li><li>Private Healthcare</li><li>Life Assurance</li><li>Above average employer pension contribution</li><li>Highly competitive salary</li><li>Income Protection</li><li>Salary Sacrifice Cycle to Work Scheme</li><li>Buying and Selling Annual Leave</li><li>Hybrid working with flexible working hiours</li></ul></ul>
