About the Role

Primary Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately


These flexible opportunities are ideal for Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different primary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas, helping children to access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a supportive classroom environment.

Duties as Primary Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils across the primary age range

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities

  • Support pupils with varying needs, including SEND, when required

  • Promote positive behaviour and follow school behaviour policies

  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits

  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with lesson organisation

  • Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff

  • Support daily routines and contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements

Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting children in a primary school or educational setting

  • Understanding of strategies to support learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2

  • Patient, nurturing, and approachable manner

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Adaptable across different schools and classroom environments

  • Professional, reliable, and proactive approach

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
