Primary Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different primary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas, helping children to access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a supportive classroom environment.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils across the primary age range
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
Support pupils with varying needs, including SEND, when required
Promote positive behaviour and follow school behaviour policies
Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
Prepare classroom resources and assist with lesson organisation
Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff
Support daily routines and contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
Previous experience supporting children in a primary school or educational setting
Understanding of strategies to support learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
Patient, nurturing, and approachable manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Adaptable across different schools and classroom environments
Professional, reliable, and proactive approach
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
