About the Role
Join our dedicated Children's Social Work - Drug & Alcohol Team in Shropshire, where you will play a vital role in supporting children and families affected by substance misuse. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals. Your expertise will contribute to building strong relationships with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in relation to drug and alcohol misuse.
Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
Providing direct support and intervention to children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in accordance with statutory guidelines.
Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding strategies.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
Current registration with Social Work England.
Experience working with children and families, particularly in relation to substance misuse.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across agencies.
