About the Role
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide specialized respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU
Perform neonatal intubations and airway management
Manage neonatal ventilators including high-frequency ventilation
Administer surfactant therapy and other neonatal-specific treatments
Monitor and assess neonatal respiratory status and blood gases
Respond to neonatal resuscitations and codes
Collaborate with neonatologists, nursing, and NICU care team
Maintain accurate documentation per departmental standards
Candidate Requirements: Required:
Active California RCP license
RRT credential from NBRC
Minimum 2 years of NICU respiratory therapy experience
Neonatal intubation proficiency required
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Preferred:
NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist) credential
Level III NICU experience
High-frequency ventilation experience
Skills & Abilities:
Expert-level neonatal respiratory assessment skills
Proficient in neonatal intubation and airway management
Comfortable working independently on night shift in high-acuity NICU
Strong communication skills for family and interdisciplinary collaboration
Calm under pressure during neonatal emergencies
