About the Role
<p><strong>Trading Standards Solicitor needed in Oxford Paying £40 per hr ref 479167</strong></p>
<p><strong>Full time hours on a temporary basis</strong></p>

<p><strong><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Manage a varied caseload of Trading Standards, criminal and regulatory matters from inception through to conclusion.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Provide legal advice to Trading Standards and other regulatory services on investigations, enforcement action and statutory powers.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Conduct criminal prosecutions and civil enforcement proceedings in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court and County Court as appropriate.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Prepare and review legal documentation including witness statements, prosecution files, court applications, notices, warrants and enforcement orders.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Advise on legislation relating to consumer protection, unfair trading practices, product safety, licensing and associated regulatory matters.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Provide strategic legal advice on investigations involving fraud, counterfeit goods, rogue traders, scams and other regulatory offences.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Attend court hearings, case conferences, interviews under caution and meetings with enforcement officers.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Review evidence and advise on case strategy, evidential requirements and public interest considerations.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Liaise with counsel, courts, enforcement agencies, external solicitors and other stakeholders.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Ensure matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with legal, procedural and professional standards.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Monitor legislative developments and provide updates on changes affecting Trading Standards and regulatory enforcement activities.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Contribute to training, guidance and knowledge sharing within Legal Services and enforcement teams.</strong></li>
