About the Role
We are looking for a volunteer to lead a walking group for people we support in Hinckley. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person-centred services.
We are looking for a confident communicator with strong leadership skills. You must be punctual, reliable and able to commit to monthly walks. If you are a keen walker with an afternoon to spare each week, we would love to hear from you!
You will plan the route, ensuring comfort breaks are included and that it is accessible for all. You will lead the group, adapting the pace as necessary to ensure that all participants are able to join in and enjoy the experience. A passion for walking is essential and a knowledge of Hinckley and the surrounding area would be a bonus!
This role is for a supported living service which supports adults with a variety of mental health needs. The service is located in Hinckley with good transport links.
Hours: One Saturday per month, 11am start
Volunteer duties:
• Plan walking routes, considering accessibility and comfort breaks
• Promote the walking group to the people we support
• Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
• Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
• Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
