KS1 Teaching Assistant Haslingden

About the role:

Justteachers is recruiting a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant for a full time, short-term position starting in September 2026 at a welcoming primary school in the Haslingden area.
The school is committed to providing a supportive and nurturing learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and develop key skills
• Assist with phonics, reading, writing, and early numeracy activities
• Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with classroom organisation
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
• Recent experience working within a UK primary school setting
• Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics programmes
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS clearance
