Controller | $160K–$170K + Bonus + Great Benefits<br />
Location:</strong> Arlington, VA – Hybrid (2-3 days)</p>
<p><strong>Role Overview</strong><br />
Seeking a strong Controller who will lead core accounting operations while helping modernize the finance function for a growing, mission-driven organization.<br />
In this role, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee all accounting operations, including month-end close, AP/AR, payroll, grants, audit, and tax.</li>
<li>Provide financial insight and partner closely with senior leadership on strategy, planning, and operational improvements.</li>
<li>Ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Lead process improvement initiatives, policy development, and systems optimization</li>
<li>Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and metrics to support data-driven decisions.</li>
<li>Manage and mentor the accounting team as the organization scales and evolves.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in nonprofit, social impact, or mission-oriented environments</li>
<li>CPA required</li>
<li>8+ years of progressive accounting leadership.</li>
<li>NetSuite or comparable ERP experience</li>
<li>Proven ability to lead change, strengthen processes, and modernize systems.</li>
<li>Strong tenure and track record of stability.</li>
