About the Role

SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication Needs SEN Teaching Assistant📍 Hove🕒 Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm💷 From £93 per day📅 Full-Time | Term Time Only A vibrant primary school in Hove is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism and communication needs across Key Stage 1. The school benefits from a highly experienced SEND team and has invested heavily in creating an inclusive environment where children feel safe, understood, and able to achieve success. The successful candidate will support a small group of pupils both within the classroom and through targeted intervention sessions. This role would suit someone who understands the importance of routine, visual support strategies, and relationship-based approaches to learning. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils with Autism to access the curriculum Delivering speech, language, and communication interventions Using visual timetables and structured learning approaches Promoting positive social interactions during lessons and playtimes Supporting emotional regulation strategies Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENDCo We’re looking for someone who: Has experience supporting children with Autism Understands communication and sensory differences Builds positive relationships quickly Is proactive, adaptable, and patient Has previous school-based experience The school offers a welcoming environment, excellent training opportunities, and a genuinely supportive leadership team.
