Johncollins Care Assistant I love my work as Head Housekeeper at Fairlawn care home, this role allows me, along with my housekeeping team to make a real impact on the day to day running of our care home, the frequent learning opportunities available to us to develop new skills in our role is great. Bernie Head Housekeeper I have been with Care South nearly 8 years and my role provides a great variety of work as no two days are the same which is what I love most about my job. I work with a great team and I am known as the work dad, I am best known for my “dad jokes” which I tell all the time and I have been honoured to be made a finalist 3 times at the stars awards and Employee of the Month twice. Colin Maintence Operative I joined Care South in April 2018 as an Activities Assistant, before I was given the opportunity to take my career to another level and step into the Activities Lead role. There are many aspects to the Activity Vocation that I enjoy from making special friendships with our residents to teaching them things that they did not know, be it through quizzes, lectures or our Local History Club. You are never too old to learn, often I feel like I am more of a teacher above all else. Hudson Activities Lead I started working June 2010 in Fairlawn as a Care Assistant and completed my Level 2 Diploma in HSC and stepped up as a Senior Care Assistant. In 2017, I transferred to St. Ives Country House Care as a Care Team Leader where I was privileged to take the Level 5 Diploma Management and Leadership. Care South is an excellent company to work for, who looks after their staff and are highly recommended with the excellent care we deliver and with the support of my Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager. Jose Care Team Leader I have been in my role as head chef at Dorset House for nearly 2 years. I feel that the most rewarding part of my role is the positive reactions that I receive from both residents and family members. It is nice to see how much you can make a difference in people’s lives, and how providing quality food can have a positive impact on the people that we care for. I enjoy working here as it is a very rewarding job and knowing that this is the only outlet for the residents to eat keeps me focused and positive within my role. Burt Head Chef I started working for Care South at Maiden Castle House in Dorchester. I was initially employeed as a Care Assistant and with the support and encouragement from both my peers and my Manager I quickly progressed to a Senior Carer. As a senior carer I developed my skills and knowledge and Progressed to Care Team Leader. In 2022 I transferred to Buxton House in Weymouth, here I have progressed again and was promoted to Deputy Home Manager. I have undertaken my Level 5 in Health and Social Care. Nicola Deputy Home Manager As Care Coordinator, I manage rotas, cover absences, and provide care when needed. I handle problem-solving for both clients and staff, support new care packages, and liaise with professionals and families. I’m always available for my team and enjoy the variety the role brings, from care planning to staff supervision. Karen Care Coordinator I work for Care South at Home, supporting older and vulnerable clients to stay independent in their own homes. My role as a Home Care Assistant includes personal care, domestic tasks, meal prep, medication support, and providing companionship. I’m passionate about helping others and making a difference. The training and learning opportunities I’ve received have helped me grow in confidence and become the best carer I can be. Sammie Homecare Assistant I’m a Specialist Home Care Assistant for Care South at Home in Somerset, supporting clients after hospital discharge to regain independence with daily tasks and community activities. As part of the Specialist Team, I focus on reablement care. Care South has supported my growth with training and values the work we do, with appreciation from both clients and the organisation. It’s the best care company I’ve worked for, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a rewarding career. Tatenda Specialist Homecare Assistance I’ve worked in the care industry since 2007, starting as a Domiciliary Carer before moving into roles such as Bookings Coordinator and Registered Care Manager in Scotland. After returning to Bournemouth in 2017, I continued as a Registered Manager and later became a Deputy Manager in a care home. While I’ve explored other roles, my passion has always been domiciliary care. I’m proud to now be part of Care South, making a difference alongside a dedicated team in the community. Tracie Care at Home Manager With over 15 years in the care industry, including several rewarding years with Care South, I’ve found nothing more fulfilling than delivering high-quality, personalised care. The best part of my day is seeing meaningful interactions between our team and residents that truly make a difference.
