<strong>Academic Learning Mentor</strong><br> <br>Are you an Academic Learning Mentor who wants to support students who need extra academic guidance? Would you like to work in a ‘Good’ secondary school while helping pupils with mild SEN needs build confidence and make progress?<br> <br>*** Academic Learning Mentor<br> *** £85 - £101 per day<br> *** September 2026 to July 2027<br> *** ‘Good’ secondary school, Wednesbury<br> *** Academic support for students with mild SEN requirements<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>The Role:</strong><br>As an Academic Learning Mentor, you will provide targeted academic support to secondary students who require additional guidance in the classroom. You will work with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them understand lesson content, complete work and develop stronger learning habits. You will also support students with mild SEN needs by offering clear explanations, reassurance and structure.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>The Candidate:</strong><br>This role will suit a patient, reliable graduate who wants to gain school-based experience before progressing into teaching, SEN or education. You should be confident building positive relationships with young people and able to adapt your approach when students need extra support.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>Requirements<br></strong>- 2:2 degree or above in any subject.<br>- A genuine interest in supporting students with academic and mild SEN needs.<br>- Strong communication skills and a calm, encouraging approach.<br>- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.<br>- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>The School:</strong><br>This ‘Good’ secondary school in Wednesbury provides a supportive and structured learning environment.
