This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-managed school environment for staff and students.Health and Safety Officer - Role Overview As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing health and safety procedures across the school site. Your responsibilities will include:Monitoring and reviewing health and safety policies and proceduresConducting regular site inspections and risk assessmentsEnsuring compliance with health and safety legislation and school policiesRecording and investigating incidents, accidents, and near missesProviding guidance and training to staff on health and safety practicesLiaising with external agencies and contractors where requiredMaintaining accurate records and documentationSupporting emergency procedures, including fire safety and evacuation drillsPromoting a culture of safety and wellbeing across the schoolRequirementsPrevious experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a school or public sector environmentRelevant health and safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent) desirableStrong knowledge of UK health and safety legislationExcellent organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeStrong communication skills and the ability to train and support staffEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What's on OfferA supportive and well-managed secondary school in HillingdonFull-time role: Monday to Friday, all year round (or term-time plus, depending on school needs)A key role in ensuring a safe and compliant school environmentOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesPotential for a long-term or permanent positionHow to ApplyIf you are a Health and Safety Officer or have relevant experience and are looking for a full-time opportunity in Hillingdon starting ASAP, we would love to hear from you.For more information, please contact Elizabeth Topley by emailing elizabeth.topley@twrecruitment.com or calling 0207 845 5450 (option 3).
