About the School A warm and nurturing primary school in Brighton is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their Early Years team on a long-term supply basis. About the Role This is a long-term supply position within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), offering consistency and the opportunity to become a valued member of the school community. You will play a key role in supporting children’s early development through play-based learning, helping to create a stimulating and inclusive environment that supports each child’s individual needs. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through engaging, play-based activities Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment Support children’s social, emotional, and educational development Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress in line with EYFS requirements Work with small groups and provide 1:1 support where needed Assist with the preparation of activities and learning resources Support children with personal care where required Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Requirements Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent) – essential Previous experience working within an EYFS setting Good understanding of the EYFS framework A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Desirable Level 3 qualification (preferred) Experience supporting children with additional needs Knowledge of safeguarding and child development best practices What the School Offers A supportive and friendly Early Years team A well-resourced and engaging learning environment Opportunity for a consistent, long-term placement Potential for the role to become permanent How to Apply If you are a passionate Early Years Practitioner looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity within a Brighton primary school, we would love to hear from you.
