QUALITY ENGINEER IN OFFICE ONLY Contract to Hire Permanent Position MUST RESIDE IN OREGON OR WASHINGTON STATE TO BE CONSIDERED Location: Tigard, OR Pay: $80K Schedule: Monday–Friday | Full-Time Who We Are: We are partnering with a growing precision manufacturer that serves high-tech industries and is committed to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. This organization is seeking a Quality Systems & Sustaining Engineer to serve as a key leader within the Quality Department, driving quality initiatives, maintaining compliance, and supporting ongoing manufacturing operations. This is a highly visible role that combines Quality Systems, Sustaining Engineering, Customer Quality, and Continuous Improvement into one impactful position. What You'll Do: Own and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Lead internal audits, external certification audits, customer audits, and surveillance audits Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and FMEA methodologies Investigate customer complaints, supplier quality concerns, RMAs, and internal non-conformances Serve as the primary quality contact for customers and quality-related issues Manage calibration and metrology programs for inspection and measurement equipment Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and non-conforming material processes Analyze quality trends and implement process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and defects Lead continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma principles Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, SOPs, forms, and controlled documentation Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and new product introductions Facilitate management reviews and quality performance reporting Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, and Operations teams What's In It for You: Opportunity to lead quality initiatives for a growing manufacturer High-impact role with visibility across the organization Collaborative and team-oriented culture Opportunity to drive process improvements and organizational growth Exposure to advanced manufacturing environments Long-term career advancement opportunities Competitive compensation and benefits package What You Need to Have: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment Strong ISO 9001 experience Experience leading audits and maintaining Quality Management Systems Root cause analysis and corrective action experience Technical writing and document control experience Experience managing calibration programs and quality systems Strong communication and project management skills Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications The Musts: ISO 9001 Quality Management System experience Audit experience (internal and external) CAPA and root cause analysis expertise Customer quality experience Strong technical writing skills Manufacturing quality background Experience with quality metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement Strong Microsoft Office proficiency Preferred: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, or precision manufacturing experience Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience GD&T knowledge Supplier quality and supplier audit experience Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping experience Calibration, metrology, MSA, and Gage R&R experience Next Steps: Please respond with an updated resume!
