About the role:
justteachers is working with a welcoming and supportive primary school near Sleaford that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September to cover a maternity leave for the full academic year.
This rewarding opportunity involves teaching a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class within a small primary school setting. The successful candidate will take on full teaching responsibilities and become an integral part of the school community. The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and creative lessons, foster strong relationships with pupils and parents, and provide a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons for a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Take full responsibility for planning, preparation, marking, assessment and tracking pupil progress.
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers to support pupils’ academic and personal development.
- Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and a love of learning.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including staff meetings, school events and collaborative working with colleagues.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with experience of mixed-age classes being advantageous.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or willingness to obtain one as part of the pre-employment checks.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to provide satisfactory professional references.
