About the Role
Cherry Bekaert is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on <b>Accounting Manager</b> to lead all accounting and financial operations for our growing construction company. This is an <b>individual contributor role</b>—you will serve as the <b>sole person in accounting</b>, owning the full cycle of financial management and reporting for the organization.<br />
The ideal candidate has <b>construction industry experience</b>, is proficient in <b>QuickBooks</b>, and thrives in an environment where they can take full ownership of accounting processes.

<b>Key Responsibilities</b><br />
<b>Financial Management</b>
<ul>
<li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual <b>financial statements</b></li>
<li>Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial data</li>
<li>Oversee cash flow, reconciliations, and month-end close</li>
</ul>
<b>Construction Accounting</b>
<ul>
<li>Manage <b>job cost accounting</b>, including budget vs. actual tracking</li>
<li>Handle <b>project accounting</b>, contract tracking, and cost allocations</li>
<li>Process <b>AIA billing</b> and all construction-related invoicing</li>
</ul>
<b>Accounts Payable & Receivable</b>
<ul>
<li>Manage <b>AP</b>, including subcontractor invoices and vendor payments</li>
<li>Manage <b>AR</b>, including progress billing and collections</li>
<li>Maintain lien releases, COIs, and subcontractor compliance</li>
</ul>
<b>Payroll & Compliance</b>
<ul>
<li>Process <b>certified payroll</b> for approximately <b>28 employees</b></li>
<li>Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and reporting requirements</li>
</ul>
<b>Systems & Processes</b>
<ul>
<li>Utilize <b>QuickBooks</b> for all accounting operations</li>
<li>Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy</li>
</ul>

<b>Qualifications</b>
<ul>
<li><b>5+ years of accounting experience</b>, with at least <b>3 years in construction</b></li>
<li><b>Proficiency in QuickBooks</b> required</li>
<li>Strong understanding of <b>job costing</b>, project accounting, and AIA billing</li>
<li>Experience processing <b>certified payroll</b></li>
<li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities</li>
<li>High attention to detail and strong organizational skills</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (but not required)</li>
