Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including ownership of the month-end close process.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and related reporting packages.
- Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.
- Continuously enhance and streamline the monthly close cycle through technology and process improvements.
- Manage reconciliations between accounting platforms, operational systems, and supporting documentation, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data integrity and strengthen reporting accuracy.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting and financial reporting workflows to increase efficiency and control.
- Research, evaluate, and implement new accounting policies within the existing financial framework.
- Record routine journal entries within the company’s ERP system.
- Support various ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience within the accounting, finance, or treasury function of a regulated financial services firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience working with enterprise-level accounting systems (experience with a leading cloud-based ERP platform is an advantage).
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret data strategically rather than simply produce reports.
- Prior experience within a regulated brokerage, derivatives, or financial trading environment is essential.
- Background in a top-tier public accounting firm is considered an asset.
