About the Role

Elderwood is currently seeking both full time and part time Pharmacy Drivers.

Responsible for safely transporting and transferring medications and medical supplies to assigned destinations. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record.

  • Deliver inter-office mail, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment following an established schedule.
  • Notify customers if deliveries will be materially late from established time schedules.
  • Drive responsibly and safely in order to minimize damage or excessive wear and tear on the delivery vehicles.
  • Convey any mechanical problems identified with the delivery vehicles to the Director of Pharmacy Services as soon as possible.
  • Ensure delivery vehicles are in safe operating condition (e.g. fuel, wash, tires, and inspection) including transport of vehicles to appropriate dealership, repair shop, etc.
  • Remove trash, empty boxes, and cartons from dispensing area as directed.
  • Clear Pharmacy entrance of snow and ice during scheduled work time

 

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License, with no restrictions.
  • Able to comprehend orders and directions, so as to successfully assume the necessary responsibility involved in the distribution of mail, medications and medical supplies.
  • Familiar with Western New York roadways and confident driving on New York State Thruways.
  • Able to drive in all weather conditions including snow, rain and ice during night and daylight.
  • Able to operate full size cargo van, small panel truck, or automobile.

 

  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
