About the Role

<h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2> <h3>Case Management &amp; Litigation Support:</h3> <ul> <li>Assist attorneys with all phases of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, parenting time, and domestic violence cases.</li> <li>Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court requirements.</li> <li>Monitor case deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements.</li> </ul> <h3>Document Preparation &amp; Filing:</h3> <ul> <li>Draft, review, file, and serve legal documents, including: <ul> <li>Complaints</li> <li>Motions</li> <li>Subpoenas</li> <li>Affidavits and Certifications</li> <li>Discovery Requests and Responses</li> <li>Case Information Statements (CIS)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Prepare correspondence and other legal documentation as needed.</li> <li>Manage electronic filing through New Jersey eCourts and related court systems.</li> </ul> <h3>Client &amp; Court Communication:</h3> <ul> <li>Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case status and procedural updates.</li> <li>Coordinate communications with opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and third-party service providers.</li> <li>Schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and attorney-client meetings.</li> </ul> <h3>Legal Research &amp; Trial Preparation:</h3> <ul> <li>Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.</li> <li>Prepare exhibits, hearing binders, trial notebooks, and supporting documentation.</li> <li>Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials.</li> </ul> <h3>Administrative Support:</h3> <ul> <li>Assist with billing, time entry, and case-related administrative tasks.</li> <li>Support attorneys with calendar management and workflow coordination.</li> </ul> <h2>Required Qualifications</h2> <h3>Education:</h3> <ul> <li>Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution, Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies, or equivalent family law experience.</li> </ul> <h3>Experience:</h3> <ul> <li>2–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably within a family law practice.</li> <li>Experience supporting attorneys in family law litigation matters from case inception through resolution.</li> </ul> <h3>Legal Knowledge:</h3> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of New Jersey family law statutes, court rules, and procedural requirements.</li> <li>Familiarity with family court practices and filing procedures.</li> </ul> <h3>Technical Skills:</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with New Jersey eCourts and electronic filing systems.</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.</li> <li>Experience with legal case management and document management software.</li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Qualifications:</h2> <ul> <li>Experience with mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.</li> <li>Familiarity with preparing financial disclosures and support calculations.</li> <li>Experience drafting settlement agreements, marital settlement agreements, and parenting plans.</li> <li>Knowledge of alimony, child support, and equitable distribution calculations.</li> </ul> <h2>Core Competencies:</h2> <ul> <li>Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.</li> <li>Strong organizational and time-management skills.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple active cases.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Professional and compassionate client-service approach.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.</li> <li>Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.</li> </ul> <h2>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</h2> <ul> <li>Competitive salary ranging from <strong>$75,000 to $107,500</strong>, based on experience and qualifications.</li> <li>Opportunity to work with a respected family law team in a collaborative and professional environment.</li> <li>Additional benefits may be discussed during the interview process.</li> </ul> <br /> Security Clearance Required: No<br /> Visa Candidate Considered: No<br /> <strong>Compensation:</strong><br /> Base Salary - USD $75,000 to $107,500
