About the Role
Role Overview The Quantity Surveyor will operate within a consultancy environment, providing expert cost advice and commercial management from feasibility through to final account. This role requires proven experience delivering high-rise residential projects, working on complex developments such as £400m+ schemes with 30-storey steel and concrete frame buildings. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to maximise value and ensure successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities * Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and commercial objectives * Undertake feasibility studies and detailed cost planning * Measure and analyse quantities, costs, labour, and programme requirements * Prepare tender documentation, contracts, and bills of quantities * Manage cost control, risk, and value engineering processes * Negotiate contracts, variations, and commercial agreements * Assess and certify subcontractor works and payments * Produce regular financial and progress reports * Advise on contracts, claims, and dispute resolution * Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards * Support project funding, approvals, and business developmentSkills & Attributes * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills * Excellent numerical and analytical ability * Commercially astute with strong problem-solving skills * Experience using QS and measurement software * Solid project management capability * Strong understanding of high-rise construction (steel & concrete frame) * Self-motivated, resilient, and collaborativeQualifications & Experience * Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline * RICS membership (or working towards) * Minimum 5+ years' experience, ideally within a consultancy * Demonstrable experience delivering high-rise residential projects * Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and industry-standard tools
