Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support on an interim basis. The successful candidate will support payroll operations across multiple UK sites and ensure accuracy during a key transition period. The RoleThe successful candidate will take responsibility for the payroll process for two of the organisation’s largest sites, working closely with HR and an external payroll provider to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Key responsibilities include:Managing payroll for approximately 500 employees across two UK sitesWorking with an outsourced payroll provider to process monthly payrollReviewing payroll outputs carefully to identify and correct discrepancies or errorsLiaising with the provider to challenge and resolve inaccuracies before payroll is finalisedSupporting the administration of pensions and employee benefitsAssisting with private healthcare administrationSupporting employees using the flexible benefits platform to manage pension contributions and healthcare optionsEnsuring payroll is delivered smoothly during the key processing period each month  Must haves:Proven payroll experience, ideally in a multi-site environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify payroll discrepanciesExperience working with outsourced payroll providersKnowledge of pensions and employee benefits administrationConfident communicator who can challenge providers where requiredAbility to work independently while collaborating with HR stakeholders  This role is working 30 hours a week – but with flexible working hours and the requirement of 1-2 days a week to be office based. The client is keen to secure someone as soon as possible and Interviews will take place immediately, with a view to start mid March.
