Head Of Care

Elite Staffing Solutions are working with a fantastic residential care home in Taunton who are looking to recruit an experienced and professional Head of Care (Senior). This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) offering a salary of up to £40,000 (DOE), requiring flexibility, including working shifts to effectively monitor care delivery and participation in every other weekend.

This is the perfect opportunity for somebody already operating at this level to move into a really supportive and encouraging environment, where they can truly hit the ground running. As a senior leadership role, the position focuses on maintaining high standards of care, supporting regulatory compliance, and working closely with the Registered Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is already working at Head of Care or Team Leader level and is confident in their ability to operate within a senior role. We are ideally looking for someone with strong compliance experience, who feels comfortable leading teams, maintaining professional standards, and contributing to continuous improvement across the service. You will be confident in supporting staff, upholding boundaries, and helping to drive quality throughout the home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care
• Maintain and improve standards in line with CQC expectations
• Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with audits, compliance, and inspections
• Provide strong, visible leadership to care staff
• Monitor care plans, medication processes, and documentation
• Address poor practice confidently and professionally
• Participate in the on-call rota as part of the management team

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Experience within a CQC-regulated residential care home
• Proven ability to maintain and improve care standards
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and medication management
• Experience supporting or participating in CQC inspections
• Confidence, professionalism, and the ability to maintain clear boundaries
• Natural leadership skills with the ability to support, challenge, and develop staff
