About the Role

<h2><strong>Key Role Responsibilities - Core:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.</li> <li>Assists in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.</li> <li>Learns to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.</li> <li>Assists in the completion of bid analysis and provides input during the subcontractor selection process.</li> <li>Assists in developing sequencing requirements of various systems and providing solutions to meet the schedule requirements.</li> <li>Gains knowledge of design documents in order to identify potential quality problems to assist in developing constructability review reports.</li> <li>Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.</li> <li>Learns and assists with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with the contract documents.</li> <li>Assists with the commissioning process including developing pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures and actual functional testing. </li> <li>Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.  Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core:</strong></h2> <p>In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:</p> <ul> <li>Completes increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Develops budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information.</li> <li>Reviews mechanical and electrical options, completes systems analysis, recommends best system for the project and provides value engineering suggestions.</li> <li>Coordinates the mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process.</li> <li>Develops sequencing requirements of various systems and provides solutions to meet the schedule requirements. Provides scheduling input during projects.</li> <li>Reviews design documents and identifies potential quality problems. Helps develop quality control programs.</li> <li>Performs job inspections at various times in the project to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality manner.</li> <li>Develops pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures. Verifies contractor’s performance of functional test.</li> <li>Reviews and approves shop drawings prior to submitting to design team.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Generates and issues the Commissioning Plan for approval to the appropriate parties.</li> <li>Verifies deficiencies are corrected and submits commissioning documentation to owners.</li> <li>Provides mentoring to less experienced co-workers.</li> <li>Creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.  Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.</li> <li>Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).</li> <li>Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.</li> <li>Develops proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.</li> <li>Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.</li> <li>Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Education:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required).</li> <li>In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Experience:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Working Environment:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Valid and unrestricted drivers license required</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Benefits Information:</strong></h2> <p>The benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Non-Union.</p> <br /> <strong>Skills and Certifications</strong> [note: bold skills and certification are required]<br /> <strong>Mechanical and Plumbing</strong><br /> Electrical<br /> <br /> Security Clearance Required: No<br /> Visa Candidate Considered: No<br /> <strong>Compensation:</strong><br /> Base Salary - USD $109,573 to $124,000
