FRONTEND ENGINEER (REACT)

ABOUT THE COMPANY
A fast-growing European technology company is seeking a Frontend Engineer to support the continued development of its consumer-facing platform. Operating across multiple international markets, the company is focused on building scalable, performant, and visually polished applications that deliver strong user experiences. The engineering team is currently transitioning to a modern front-end stack using React and Next.js.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Frontend Engineer will contribute to the development and optimization of the platform’s user interface. Working alongside product, design, and engineering peers, this role involves building and improving features, maintaining code quality, and supporting the evolution of the front-end stack.

Ideal for someone who is confident in their technical foundation and ready to grow into greater ownership over time.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain user-facing features using React and Next.js

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable web applications

• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code aligned with current best practices

• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions

• Ensure consistent performance and responsiveness across devices and browsers

• Help identify and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks

• Stay current on front-end trends and apply relevant improvements to the codebase

• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team

 

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development

• Solid experience using React in production environments (Next.js is a plus)

• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and modern development workflows

• Familiarity with responsive design and performance optimization techniques

• Basic understanding of SEO principles and analytics tools (e.g., GA/GA4)

• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset

• Effective communicator, able to work with technical and non-technical colleagues

• Fluent in English

 

WORKING MODEL
Hybrid: 4 days per week in the Lisbon office.
Relocation support available for candidates moving to Portugal.
