About the Role

Payroll Officer

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for your next opportunity? Or perhaps you're a Payroll Administrator ready to step up into a more involved role?

We're working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business in the Midlands who are looking to welcome a Payroll Officer into their friendly and supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the payroll process while also gaining exposure to broader HR activities.

The Role

As Payroll Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You'll be responsible for managing both weekly and monthly payroll cycles, while supporting the Head of HR with day-to-day administrative duties.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll from start to finish
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate payroll data (starters, leavers, overtime, sickness and expenses)
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, including PAYE, NIC, pensions and auto-enrolment
  • Checking payroll reports and submitting for approval
  • Handling employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Producing payroll reports for Finance and supporting payments to employees and third parties
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Supporting continuous improvements within payroll processes
  • Assisting with HR administration when required

About You

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organised and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a payroll position
  • Knowledge of HMRC regulations and payroll compliance
  • Strong IT and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, "can-do" attitude
  • The ability to manage deadlines and stay calm under pressure

Experience with Moorepay or a payroll qualification would be beneficial, but not essential.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Hybrid working and some flexibility
  • A supportive working environment
  • Opportunity to develop your career within payroll and HR

If this sounds like the right fit for you, we'd love to hear from you.
