Live-out Governess in Kensington

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and intellectually engaged governess for an 8-year-old girl. You will become a key figure in her development—integrating school, extracurriculars, and home learning into one consistent, structured system. Focus: fostering curiosity, confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.

Schedule: The position is permanent, live-out and full-time Monday–Friday, 15:00–21:00

Key Responsibilities

• English language development – daily immersion, vocabulary expansion, confident communication
• Educational support – homework supervision, logic/analytical tasks, building independent learning habits
• Structure & organisation – weekly/monthly learning plans, daily routine management, progress monitoring
• Coordination – liaison with teachers, tutors, coaches; balancing academic and extracurricular workload
• Wellbeing – emotional/social support, outdoor physical activity, playdates, fostering responsibility
• Health – accompany to doctor if needed, monitor wellbeing, update parents
• Cooking not primary; basic meal assistance for the child is expected.

Requirements:

• Highly organised, proactive, system-oriented
• Warm, engaging, intellectually curious
• Strong communicator with planning skills
• Background in education, child development, or private household roles preferred

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £45,000–£54,000 gross per annum (50% salary retained when family travels abroad)

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
