<strong>Job Title:</strong> Robotics Engineer<br><strong>Location:</strong> Cheltenham<br><strong>Salary:</strong> £50,000 – £70,000 OTE (DOE)<br><strong>Shift Type:</strong> Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–14:00 (flexibility required for travel)<br><strong>Benefits:</strong> Private healthcare, international travel, bonuses, pension, progression opportunities<br><br><strong>The Opportunity</strong><br>A specialist engineering business at the forefront of bespoke automation and robotics solutions is seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer to join its growing team. This is a highly varied role offering the opportunity to work on complex turnkey automation projects across Europe and North America.<br><br>Working closely with design and controls engineers, you will play a key role in delivering innovative robotic solutions from concept through to commissioning, both in-house and on customer sites.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><br><ul><li>Design and program robotic systems for bespoke automation solutions<br><br></li><ul><li>Integrate robotics within wider automation and control systems<br><br></li><li>Take ownership of projects from concept through to customer handover<br><br></li><li>Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, and fault finding<br><br></li><li>Support and service existing systems<br><br></li><li>Contribute to project management activities<br><br></li><li>Train and mentor colleagues in robotics best practices<br><br></li><li>Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within scope<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>Technical Requirements</strong><br><br><ul><li>Proven experience in industrial robotics<br><br></li><ul><li>Experience with one or more: Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki, Nachi<br><br></li><li>Background in manufacturing environments<br><br></li><li>Strong understanding of industrial control systems<br><br></li><li>Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet, Profinet)<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>Desirable Skills</strong><br><br><ul><li>PLC, HMI, SCADA or network programming<br><br></li><ul><li>Project management experience<br><br></li><li>Experience working internationally<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>Personal Attributes</strong><br><br><ul><li>Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail<br><br></li><ul><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team<br><br></li><li>Excellent communication and customer-facing skills<br><br></li><li>Adaptable and willing to travel regularly<br><br></li><li>Professional, reliable, and proactive approach<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>Additional Requirements</strong><br><br><ul><li>Full UK driving licence (max 3 penalty points)<br><br></li><ul><li>Valid UK/EU passport with ability to travel to USA/Canada<br><br></li><li>No restrictions preventing international travel<br><br></li><li>Fluent English (additional languages beneficial)<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>What’s on Offer</strong><br><br><ul><li>Competitive OTE package (£50K–£70K DOE)<br><br></li><ul><li>Regular travel to USA and Canada with generous allowances and high-quality accommodation<br><br></li><li>Paid Saturday site work (Sundays typically not required)<br><br></li><li>Private healthcare (family included, post-probation)<br><br></li><li>Contributory pension scheme<br><br></li><li>21 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)<br><br></li><li>Cycle to Work scheme<br><br></li><li>Bonus and recognition schemes<br><br></li><li>Clear progression opportunities within a growing business<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>About Us</strong><br>This opportunity is being advertised by Pertemps Engineering Division, a specialist recruitment partner supporting advanced manufacturing and automation businesses across the UK and internationally.
