<p><strong>Java Developer (SC Eligible or SC Cleared)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Reading (Hybrid)</strong></p>

<p><strong>to £75,000 (DOE)</strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Java Backend Developer</em></strong> needed <strong><em>SC Eligible (Lived & worked UK 5 years)</em></strong> or active <strong><em>SC Security Clearance</em></strong> for a permanent position based in <strong><em>Reading</em></strong> (Hybrid). Start ASAP in May 2026.</p>
<p>Hybrid Working – primarily working from home (WFH), with travel to the office a few times a month on average.</p>
<p>A chance to work with a leading global IT transformation business specialising in delivering large-scale Government digital modernisation projects.</p>
<p><strong>Key skills, experience + duties to include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em>Java developer</em> with strong back-end <em>Java</em> experience to develop new features for a portfolio of Government Clients.</li>
<li><strong>Java 17/21, Spring MVC Framework, </strong><strong>Java EE library migrations and middleware upgrades</strong></li>
<li>Excellent experience in <strong>Java backend development and middleware technologies.</strong></li>
<li>Experience in application engineering with a focus on backend development.</li>
<li>Manage efficient database management and operations with <strong>Oracle 19C</strong>.</li>
<li>Implement and maintain <strong>SOAP/REST</strong> integrations to support system inter-operability.</li>
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.</li>
<li>Agile development methods including: Scrum, TDD, BDD, Kanban.</li>
<li>Tech Environment: Java 17/21, Spring MVC Framework, Java EE library migrations and middleware upgrades, and operations with <strong>Oracle 19C</strong>.</li>
<li>Advantageous: Government / GOV.UK / Public Sector experience,</li>
