Cereals Breeding Internship
KWS continuously offers internships on a full-time basis at our Cereals Breeding Station in Bergen-Wohlde, Germany as well as Petkus, Germany. The typical duration of the paid internships is at least one month in the period between May and October.
Students (f/m/d) will get insight and first hand working experience in practical plant breeding in one or more of the following areas:
Yield Trials
Seed Production
Line Development
Data Analysis
The internship
Your tasks can be
Trait-scoring and all tasks related to technical breeding
Support trial-seed's production team in Italy
Hands-on work during harvest of yield trials and inbreed lines
Hands-on work in crop conditioning
Prepare and sow testing seed
Participation in lectures about practical plant breeding and management of breeding companies
Your profile
Student (undergraduate, graduate) in agriculture, agronomy, horticulture or related fields
Strong interest in practical plant breeding
Resistance to outdoor and greenhouse work at diverse weather conditions
Willingness and flexibility to work extra hours during peak season
Cooperation and team spirit
Availability to travel
Good proficiency in English, basic German is advantageous
Driving license class B is desirable
