<strong>Logistics Coordinator</strong><br><br><strong>Salary: Up to £28,000 depending on experience + annual bonus </strong><br><br><strong>Location: Uttoxeter</strong><br><br><strong>Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends</strong><br><br> <br><br><strong>The Opportunity</strong><br><br>My client is a large, well-established organisation operating within a highly regulated industrial environment. Due to continued requirements within their Uttoxeter operation, they are looking to recruit a Logistics Coordinator to join their team.<br><br> <br><br>This is a varied, hands-on logistics position covering both UK and international shipments, with responsibility for coordinating transport, preparing documentation, managing goods in and out, and supporting day-to-day warehouse activities.<br><br> <br><br>The role would suit someone with previous experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, shipping or goods-in/goods-out who is comfortable combining administrative responsibilities with practical warehouse duties.<br><br> <br><br>You'll be working with a range of internal teams and external logistics providers to ensure goods are prepared, documented and transported safely and efficiently by road, air and sea.<br><br> <br><br><strong>What you'll be doing</strong><br><br>As Logistics Officer, you'll take responsibility for coordinating the movement of goods both domestically and internationally. Your responsibilities will include:<br><br> <br><br><ul><li>Coordinating UK and international logistics activities, including arranging shipments and collections<br><br></li><ul><li>Liaising with approved freight and logistics providers to organise transportation by road, air and sea<br><br></li><li>Preparing and maintaining accurate shipping, transport, customs and export documentation<br><br></li><li>Supporting the transportation of regulated and dangerous goods, ensuring the correct documentation and procedures are followed<br><br></li><li>Working alongside the company's Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) to ensure activities comply with current transport legislation and requirements<br><br></li><li>Preparing consignments for dispatch, including packaging, labelling, palletising and securing goods appropriately<br><br></li><li>Managing goods-in and goods-out, including receiving deliveries, checking products, storing materials and preparing outgoing consignments<br><br></li><li>Ensuring shipments are correctly identified and documented before leaving site<br><br></li><li>Operating forklift trucks and other mechanical handling equipment to safely load, unload and move goods around the facility<br><br></li><li>Monitoring stocks of packaging, pallets and other materials required for dispatch<br><br></li><li>Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse and logistics environment<br><br></li><li>Working closely with colleagues across the wider operation to ensure materials and products are available when required<br><br></li><li>Helping identify and resolve any issues that could impact deliveries, collections or shipping schedules.<br><br></li></ul></ul> <br><br><strong>What we're looking for</strong><br><br>My client is looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable working in an environment where safety, accuracy and compliance are extremely important.<br><br> <br><br>You'll ideally have:<br><br> <br><br><ul><li>Previous experience within logistics, warehousing, distribution, shipping or a similar operational environment<br><br></li><ul><li>Experience with goods-in/goods-out, dispatch or stock movements<br><br></li><li>A valid forklift truck licence<br><br></li><li>Good knowledge and appreciation of manual handling and warehouse safety<br><br></li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage several activities at the same time<br><br></li><li>Good written and verbal communication skills, as you'll regularly deal with colleagues, transport providers and other stakeholders<br><br></li><li>Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel<br><br></li><li>Confidence learning and working with bespoke software and database systems<br><br></li><li>The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team<br><br></li><li>A careful and methodical approach to paperwork and documentation<br><br></li></ul></ul> <br><br>Previous knowledge of ADR and/or IATA regulations relating to the transportation of dangerous goods would be particularly useful.
