JOB LOCATION: Stevenage & Bolton

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL: SC to Start

DURATION: 6+ Months (Extension Possible)

WORK PATTERN: Full Time ONSITE (Compressed Option Available)

RATE: £ 70.00 Per hr on Umbrella (Inside IR35)

TARGET INDUSTRIES AND COMPANIES. Is Defence a must?

If not what industries can be considered
Open to all industries where skillset is apparent; Def/Aero would be ideal however.
Essential Skillset & Tools
C/C++ EXPERIENCE (ADA WOULD BE A DESIRABLE ON TOP OF THIS, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL)
An awareness of developing and deploying software on real-time Operating Systems, Risc-V and ARM-based processing platforms.
Excellent analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis.
Knowledge of modern software development practices
 

Overview:

The growing workload within MBDA UK has created an exciting opportunity within the Embedded Software team .
We supply a full range of hard real time software solutions for the next generation of missile and defence solutions. This unique and exciting opportunity will allow you to develop technical and leadership skills across our broad range of products. This really is rocket science!.
Role Requirements / Responsibilities:

You will be developing embedded, real-time software. This is a hands-on role and requires the continued development and integration of missile subsystem software products and evolutions for future products. You will be developing software targeting C, C++ and/or Ada languages. This software will be integrated with other software from several sources, firmware and hardware.
Skillset / Experience Required:

Previous software engineering experience in the development of test solutions
Experience in the development of embedded software with C, C++ (Ada experience could also be beneficial, but not essential).  It would be desirable for you to have knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
Can do’ and flexible approach – you’ll enjoy solving technical problems that sometimes extend beyond the bounds of “software”
Excellent analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis
The ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
An awareness of developing and deploying software on real-time Operating Systems, Risc-V and ARM-based processing platforms.
Knowledge of modern software development practices.
It would be advantageous to have a knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55 & DO178B/C and restricted coding standards such as MISRA / SPARK.
