About the Role

The Head Bartender provides high quality and luxurious service to the guests and ensure guests satisfaction by delivering quality beverages and bar service that consistently and effectively reflects the luxurious nature of our company. Guest satisfaction measured by Guests comment cards in regards to his – her area. Monitoring guest flow in his – her bar to ensure that beverage services are attended to for all guests. Preparing beverages in accordance to guests preferences and in line with company policy and procedures. Ensuring that his - her bar team is well trained in company procedures to ensure good stock control and accurate charging to accounts. Communicating effectively to ensure that his - her bar team reflects the company’s values. Ensuring that his - her bar team is aware of all events and activities on the ship at all times. The Head Bartender is over all in charge of the bars and responsible for any shortcomings in regards to inventories and equipment. Must be fully knowledgeable of standard cocktail recipes, garnishes and presentations. Must ensure that charges are done correctly and as per procedure by the waiters. Conducting the inventory in a proper way and monitoring the bar cost. Ensuring to comply with the companies alcohol policy. Ensuring the logging of all fridge, freezer and dishwasher temperatures, as explained in current policy and/or legal guidelines in beverage venues. Liaising with the Head Bartender and the rest of the department, in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives, without jeopardizing standards of quality service, cleanliness, etc. Keeping self and team aware of targets, costs and monitoring procedures. Motivating the team to up sell and generate revenue. Providing ideas to maximize beverage revenues and minimize costs. REQUIREMENTS: Advanced level of English Minimum 3 years of experience in high level bar/restaurant or 4-5* hotels/resorts Previous ship experience as Bartender is mandatory Excellent knowledge of different types of liquors and beverages Ability to deal with guests from different nationalities. Minimum age is 21 years old.
