Hours: 1:00pm – 9:30pm, Sunday to Thursday (possible extension by an hour if needed)

Contact - Emily Powell - Pearson Whiffin Recruitment

We’re working with a well-established and highly respected logistics operation who are known for doing things properly — from how they run their fleet, to how they look after their people.

They’re now looking for a Transport Planner to join their PM shift team. This is a role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, ownership, and keeping things running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll be planning a fleet of around 30 vehicles (Class 1 & Class 2), playing a key role in ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and with a high level of attention to detail.

Why This Role?

This is a business where:

  • Hard work is recognised and rewarded
  • You’ll be part of a genuinely supportive, down-to-earth team
  • People are treated as individuals, not just numbers
  • There’s a real focus on doing things properly and to a high standard
  • You’ll have the opportunity to learn, grow and develop your career over time

It’s a great fit for someone who wants stability but also wants to be valued and challenged in their role.

The Role

  • Plan and coordinate daily routes across a mixed HGV fleet
  • Maximise vehicle utilisation and optimise loads
  • Manage driver allocations, briefings, and schedule changes
  • React quickly to delays, breakdowns, and last-minute changes
  • Ensure full compliance with driver hours, WTD and transport regulations
  • Maintain accurate records using TMS systems
  • Liaise with drivers, customers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly
  • Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and performance

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in transport / route planning within road haulage
  • Strong understanding of Class 1 & Class 2 operations
  • Someone who takes ownership and pride in getting things right
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
  • Good knowledge of transport compliance and driver regulations
  • Strong communicator who can handle pressure and make decisions
  • Comfortable working a PM shift pattern

What’s On Offer

  • £competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Permanent, stable opportunity within a well-run operation
  • Supportive team environment with strong leadership
  • Real opportunity to develop and progress over time

If you’re someone who enjoys being at the centre of the operation and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work, this could be a great next step.
