Production Manager

<p><b>Production Manager</b></p> <p>The Production Manager is responsible for running all day-to-day factory operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are met across all product lines. This role manages a team of 15 people, reports to the Managing Director and owns execution from order through to finished product &#8211; reducing reliance on the business owner.</p> <p>Advanced Laminates is a UK-based manufacturer specialising in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) Fibreglass modular bathroom solutions and contract manufacturing. The business operates across three core divisions:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Showers (Shower Pods)</li> <li>Crystal En-Suites (Bathroom Pods)</li> <li>Contract Manufacturing (GRP / Composites)</li> </ul> <p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p> <p>Production Ownership:</p> <ul> <li>Full accountability for daily and weekly output</li> <li>Deliver products on time, in full, right first time</li> <li>Run daily production meetings</li> <li>Resolve issues proactively</li> </ul> <p>People Management:</p> <ul> <li>Lead, motivate and manage factory team (15)</li> <li>Develop team leaders and multi-skilled workforce</li> <li>Manage attendance, holidays and performance</li> </ul> <p>Production Planning:</p> <ul> <li>Create and manage production schedules</li> <li>Balance workload across all product lines</li> <li>Align production with sales demand and deadlines</li> </ul> <p>Logistics and Delivery:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure products are complete and ready for installation</li> <li>Coordinate with delivery and installation teams</li> </ul> <p>Health and Safety:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain compliance with HSE regulations</li> <li>Manage COSHH, PPE, and safe GRP handling</li> <li>Promote strong safety culture</li> </ul> <p>Quality Management:</p> <ul> <li>Drive right-first-time production</li> <li>Manage defects, rework and root cause analysis</li> </ul> <p>Facilities and Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure machinery uptime and maintenance</li> <li>Improve factory layout and workflow</li> </ul> <p>Continuous Improvement:</p> <ul> <li>Improve efficiency, productivity and cost control</li> <li>Implement lean practices where appropriate</li> </ul> <p><b>Experience and Skills:</b></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role</li> <li>Strong people management and leadership skills</li> <li>Hands on approach and in busy periods offering practical support on the shopfloor</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability</li> <li>Experience in GRP / Composites is desirable but not essential</li> <li>Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations</li> <li>Familiarity with production planning and workflow management</li> </ul> <p><b>Personal Attributes:</b></p> <ul> <li>Self-motivated and proactive</li> <li>Strong ownership mindset</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure</li> <li>Results-driven and accountable</li> <li>Excellent communication skills</li> </ul> <p><b>Benefits:</b></p> <ul> <li>Company Pension</li> <li>30 days Holiday (including Bank Holidays)</li> <li>Established team</li> </ul>
