Utility Services Care Coordinators (Energy Assistance Program) Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $22 per hour.
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.

Utility Services Care Coordinators (Energy Assistance Program) Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs.
  • The required availability for this position is Monday–Friday, standard business hours, with a hybrid schedule (first week onsite training at the Fisher Building in Detroit, then remote with 2 in-office days per week determined with supervisor)

Utility Services Care Coordinators (Energy Assistance Program) Responsibilities

  • Connect daily with MEAP and WRAP applicants to facilitate intake and enrollment activities.
  • Provide customer service by answering inbound calls and assisting applicants with program questions.
  • Collect, review, and verify required applicant documentation.
  • Process applications submitted through online portals for MEAP and WRAP programs.
  • Accurately enter applicant data into internal systems with a high level of precision
  • Provide validation support for Low-Income Self-Sufficiency Plan (LSP) applications.
  • Refer applicants to successful planning appointments when applicable.
  • Conduct LSP coordination training for internal teams and partner organizations.
  • Support additional operational and program-related tasks assigned.

Utility Services Care Coordinators (Energy Assistance Program) Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong customer service, data entry, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle high-volume calls and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.

Utility Services Care Coordinators (Energy Assistance Program) Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with utility assistance programs (MEAP, WRAP, or similar)
  • Background in case management, intake coordination, or benefits processing
  • Experience working in a call center or customer support environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
