About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a qualified Secondary SEND Teacher to work on a supply basis in specialist SEND schools across Northampton, in partnership with Tradewind Recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and adaptable teacher who is committed to supporting young people with additional needs and making a real impact in inclusive educational settings.As a Secondary SEND Teacher, you will be working with students aged 11-16 who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and complex behavioural challenges. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.Working on a supply basis offers flexibility and variety, allowing you to gain experience across different school environments while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You will play a key role in creating a structured, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver tailored lessons in line with individual needs and EHCPsDifferentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities and learning stylesManage classroom behaviour effectively using positive strategiesWork collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staffMonitor, assess, and report on student progressFoster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environmentRequirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalentExperience teaching in a secondary or SEND settingStrong understanding of SEND needs and inclusive teaching practicesExcellent behaviour management and communication skillsFlexible, resilient, and proactive approachIn return, Tradewind Recruitment offers competitive daily rates, ongoing CPD opportunities, and the support of a dedicated consultant who understands the SEND sector.
