About the Role

Our client in the West Midlands is looking to appoint an experienced Public Sector Housing Officer / Compliance Officer to support their housing enforcement and compliance activities. The role will involve undertaking property inspections, assessing housing conditions using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), identifying hazards, and ensuring properties meet required housing standards. You will also be responsible for taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary and ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a housing enforcement or compliance role in the public sector. You must be HHSRS qualified with strong experience in hazard identification and assessment. A good working knowledge of housing legislation, particularly relating to Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), licensing requirements, and enforcement action, is essential. The client is looking for someone confident in carrying out inspections and enforcement duties with minimal supervision. In return, the client is offering a 3 month role offering a hybrid working pattern, with 3 days on site and 2 days working from home, providing flexibility while supporting operational requirements.
