About the Role

<p><strong>HR &amp; Payroll Manager</strong><br />Truro Cornwall <br />£35,000 &#8211; £40,000 per annum<br />Full Time Permanent Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hour lunch)</p> <p>Our client, a well-established and growing construction business, is seeking an experienced <strong>HR &amp; Payroll Manager</strong> to lead the company&#8217;s HR and payroll functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful organisation during an exciting period of growth.</p> <p>Reporting to senior management, you will oversee all aspects of HR administration, employee relations, payroll processing, and compliance, while managing and supporting a small team.</p> <p><em>Key Responsibilities</em></p> <ul> <li> <p>Managing the company&#8217;s weekly and monthly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensuring compliance with current payroll, employment, and HR legislation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Overseeing day-to-day HR operations across the business.</p> </li> <li> <p>Advising managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.</p> </li> <li> <p>Managing employee onboarding, contracts, absence management, and personnel records.</p> </li> <li> <p>Supervising and supporting a small team consisting of a Payroll/HR Administrator and a Training Coordinator.</p> </li> <li> <p>Overseeing training administration and workforce development activities.</p> </li> <li> <p>Maintaining HR and payroll systems and ensuring accurate record keeping.</p> </li> <li> <p>Supporting senior management with HR initiatives and workforce planning.</p> </li> </ul> <p><em>Requirements</em></p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous experience in both HR and payroll management.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong knowledge of employment law and payroll legislation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience managing or supervising staff.</p> </li> <li> <p>Excellent organisational and communication skills.</p> </li> <li> <p>CIPD Level 3 qualification or above is desirable</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience within the construction industry would be advantageous.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.</p> </li> </ul> <p><em>What&#8217;s on Offer</em></p> <ul> <li> <p>Salary of £35,000 &#8211; £40,000 depending on experience.</p> </li> <li> <p>20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.</p> </li> <li> <p>Company pension scheme.</p> </li> <li> <p>Free on-site parking.</p> </li> <li> <p>Stable, long-term opportunity with a respected local employer.</p> </li> <li> <p>Supportive and collaborative working environment.</p> </li> </ul> <p>If you are an experienced HR and Payroll professional looking for a varied management role within a thriving construction business, we would love to hear from you.
