Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Help Desk Assistant to join a busy service team. This role will act as the first point of contact for incoming queries, ensuring that all requests are logged, managed, and resolved efficiently.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and confident communicating with both internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer queries via phone and email
- Logging and managing service requests using internal systems
- Scheduling jobs and allocating work to engineers or relevant teams
- Monitoring progress of jobs and ensuring timely completion
- Providing updates to customers and handling follow-up queries
- Escalating complex issues to senior team members where necessary
- Maintaining accurate records of all interactions and job statuses
- Supporting the wider team with administrative duties
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a customer service, help desk, or administrative role (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internal systems
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach

- Experience in a maintenance, facilities, or service-based environment
- Familiarity with job management or ticketing systems
