About the Role
A prestigious Academic University in New England is looking to expand its neurosurgery faculty by hiring an endovascular fellowship trained neurosurgeon. The new neurosurgeon will help build the vascular/stroke program and work closely with the Head of Vascular Neurosurgery. In addition to vascular, the new neurosurgeon will also do general neurosurgery and routine spine. As this is an academic position, there will be ample opportunity to teach medical students, residents, and fellows, as the new neurosurgeon will join the faculty of the University and collaborate with a world-class team of physicians. <br><br>Practice Highlights:<br>• Vascular/stroke call will be shared with 1 neurosurgeon and 2 interventional neuroradiologists<br>• Referrals will come from stroke neurologists<br>• APPs, discharge team, and residency program personnel are all well staffed and extremely capable<br>• Enjoy a balanced mix of research, clinical, and teaching responsibilities<br>• 30% vascular volume to start with opportunity to grow over time<br>• 2 hybrid bi-plane rooms and 1 non-hybrid bi-plane room<br>• 24 bed ICU staffed with 4 neurointensivists<br>• Research opportunities exist for basic science, clinical trials, and translational science; close collaboration for genomics research<br><br>Nestled in the heart of New England, this charming town offers a blend of historical character and contemporary convenience.
