Cover Supervisor Bury

About the role:

Justteachers is currently seeking a reliable, adaptable, and confident Cover Supervisor to work on a supply basis in a welcoming and well-resourced Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Bury. This flexible role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and is looking to gain experience in a specialist setting. They would like the candidate to be available from September 2026 until January 2027.

The school caters for students with a wide range of needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges. The team is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every learner is supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-set lessons and activities in the absence of teaching staff.
• Provide classroom support and ensure a calm, purposeful learning environment
• Manage behaviour in line with the school’s policies and individual needs.
• Support students’ academic and emotional development with patience and consistency.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure all students are engaged and supported.

Pre-requisites:

• Previous experience working in a school, SEN setting, or with young people is desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• A calm, proactive, and flexible approach to working with children with complex needs.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Two education-based or professional references.
