About the Role
Operations Manager, Tufting and Backing Location: Dalton, GA Compensation: $80,000 to $120,000 Direct Hire *Travel Required during start-up phase* Position SummaryWe are partnering with a growing automotive carpet manufacturer that is launching a new tufting and backing production facility in Dalton, GA. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader to help build operations from the ground up while leading day to day plant activities and supporting long term growth. The Operations Manager will oversee plant operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency. ResponsibilitiesAssist in launching a new tufting and backing production facility.Lead daily plant operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement.Manage multiple operational departments, including:ProductionTechnicalQualityLogisticsPlanningEnvironment, Health, and SafetyCustomer Service and Internal SalesMonitor operational performance and key performance indicators.Lead daily production meetings focused on safety, quality, and production objectives.Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce waste.Coordinate priorities across departments while providing leadership, coaching, and accountability.Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.Maximize equipment uptime while minimizing production interruptions.Ensure operational reporting and administrative activities are completed accurately.Foster a culture centered on teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.QualificationsExperience within the United States carpet manufacturing industry is required.Experience with tufting operations is strongly preferred.Startup or new production launch experience is highly desirable.Demonstrated leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.Experience working with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.Strong understanding of manufacturing safety and quality systems.Excellent organizational, communication, coaching, and problem solving skills.Ability to lead cross functional teams and build strong working relationships across departments.
