We are seeking a Wastewater Utility Worker for assignment in Jackson, Mississippi. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the servicing and corrective maintenance of water/wastewater systems; including maintenance of vehicles, tools and equipment.


Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm


Responsibilities
- Assist operators with routine wastewater treatment plant operations
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning tanks, channels, buildings and grounds
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, parts replacement and minor repairs
- Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
- Assist with inspection of equipment such as pumps, valves, blowers and motors
- Help collect wastewater samples and assist with basic testing as directed
- Follow safety procedures, including confined space, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
