Opportunity Snapshot - Location: Weirton, West Virginia - Contract Type: Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens - Start Date: ASAP - Schedule: Flexible shift selection - Shift Options: - 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM - 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM - 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM - Minimum Commitment: Flexible - EMR: Epic Facility Overview - Annual ED Volume: ~32,000 visits - Community hospital emergency department - Physician-led care model with APP integration Coverage Model: - Physician coverage: 36 hours daily - APP coverage: 12 hours daily Practice Environment This is a balanced emergency department designed for efficiency and consistency. - ~1.85 patients per hour - Strong APP support handling lower-acuity cases - Defined patient flow and manageable volume - Broad-spectrum emergency medicine without extreme acuity burden This is a true mid-volume ED sweet spot—steady flow without burnout-level intensity.
