We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support the full accounts payable lifecycle in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This remote contract position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to independently resolve invoice and payment-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full invoice lifecycle, from receipt and review through approval and payment.
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding invoice and payment status.
- Research and resolve discrepancies involving invoices, purchase orders, payments, credits, and vendor records.
- Review employee expense reimbursement requests for compliance with company policies and approve eligible expenses for general ledger posting.
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries.
- Perform assigned account reconciliations.
- Assist with additional accounting and accounts payable projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least three years of accounts payable experience.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and process-focused approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with vendors, employees, and stakeholders across multiple departments.
